I'll have a rather boring New Years Eve it seems.

'Card bombed' the Exit night club in Chicago last night.
Not really much of an ambient down tempo trip hop crowd, but maybe I'll get a few listens and/or some exposure.

In addition to 'card bombing' the place, I did have a nice visit with a couple of old friends.

Eleanor, my latest drum 'n' bass song, is available on on mp3.com. The song is named for my grandmother. While I don't think she ever heard drum 'n' bass, she did dance the Charleston.

A moment of silence for Joe Strummer.

The Clash was my first exposure to punk rock when I saw them on Saturday Night Live in the early 80s.

I didn't know him, and yet, I will miss him.

Stayed up to 1:30 AM last night and finished up most of a song while sitting in bed with the cat.
Will finish that one off today and maybe start another - in between movies, of course.

Have done nothing with regards to music today (besides listen to Big Soup by Vibert).
Saw a couple of movies and that's about it.
Best thing about the previews was that about 2/3 of the songs were electronic.
Should work on some songs tomorrow though.

Alright. I visited family over the weekend.
Received a couple of CDs of loops as a Christmas present.
Finished up a song.
It will be available online shortly.
Rendering it now then will upload it to mp3.com and raw42.

Sent out a ""demo" to a Dutch magazine called De 'Klink' for a review. Will wait and see what comes of it. Their home page says "deze website is voornamelijk bedoeld voor mensen die geïnteresseerd zijn in alternatieve- rock, metal en punk muziek", so I'm not sure why they wanted to review my electronic music. Maybe they're review will just consist of insulting me and my music in Dutch. I guess it could be worse...

Grandpa Ralph is now available on mp3.com.

Grandpa Ralph is a 170 BPM drum 'n' bass piece featuring groovy organs and killer drum riffs spiced up by high hats and fast cymbal work.

Ok, so it appears that it wasn't a problem with Blogger at all for the last 2 days, but a problem with IE on my laptop at home not allowing me to do something that it used to do. Have no idea what settings changed where. Damn. And that's probably the reason that I couldn't get to thinkgeek.com either. Damn.

Hermetic is now available online.

This is what raw42 says about it:

Hermetic-Film/TV Soundtrack
A bubbling intro with swaying gentle pads and tinkling effects give the feeling of underwater explorations or distant journeys into space and beyond. Also includes some nice guitar sections.

Went to the Art Institute in Chicago today. Good stuff. Saw "Art of the Medicis" - which was ok, but it wasn't as cool as the photos.

Photographers featured were Louis Faurer and Robert Frank.

Check it out if you can. Faurer had a lot of cool shots of NYC from the 40s (mainly), and Frank had photos from a variety of times/places (lots of collage/montage with writing on them - if you're into that sort of thing, then you'll like Frank).
