Episode 20 was inspired by a Mystechs remix I did last month. After struggling with it, I went off the deep end at a very aggro 200 bpm and turned out a heavy gabba mix. Apparently that broke something loose and Episode 20 of Objects From The World Of Machines is the result. Here I've returned to what I will call an illbient sound, although you will hear elements of electronic artists from Cornwall in it too. It's experimental. It's interesting to listen to. I've had it going in the background at work the last couple of days and it's worked well for me.
Anyhow, thanks for "tuning in" (or "clicking in" as the case may be).

Just watching the American Hardcore documentary. Besides great bands, the DIY ethos is inspiring.

I've rediscovered my stove top espresso maker. It's brilliant and satisfies my craving for espresso.
I hadn't thought of using it in years - even though my counter top machine stopped working several years ago.
It's the little things that make me happy.

The episode features a more experimental bent than my most recent podcasts. No seperate songs stiched together here.
This podcast is like a DJ mix...but with lots of abstract rhythms and soundscapes, odd fx/samples and basslines and haunting melodies. This one performed live in my "blue room" office studio.
It's available at http://feeds.feedburner.com/ObjectsFromTheWorldOfMachines
Hello, people. 3 updates with this post that I wanted to make everyone aware of.
1. Friday 2/29 I'm playing with Velva at The Redline Tap. I know there's a cover, but I'm not sure what it is. We start at 9 and other performers include Congress Of Starlings and Ripley Caine, a couple of "folktronica" acts. The Red Line is located at 7006 N Glenwood in Chicago.
2. I have a new release out on [ai]D['mju:zik] Records entitled "Electric Music For Electrice Minds". It delivers 10 songs of electro-tinged IDM goodness. At the bottom of the page there's a link where you can listen to all the songs before you buy, so check it out!
3. In other news of free stuff, I have a new "Objects From The World Of Machines" podcast out. This one mixes 8-bit, IDM and glitch with some found sounds. So if you're not interested in attending a show or buying a new release, then feel free to download some free tuneage!

Episode 16 features deconstructed 80s riffs, glitched up drums, electro beats for seasoning, funk guitars, phat bass lines and even a little prog rock thrown in. Just add reverb and shake.
Download. Listen. Enjoy.
And, hey, be safe out there.

A new and most excellent podcast from the "Objects From The World Of Machines" series is now available, so update iTunes or point your browser to http://www.dreamdaze.org/podcast.htm and enjoy the sounds this winter evening.
Tonight's podcast is a little experimental drum'n'bass featuring some nice jazz keyboards, some glitched up drums, warped out bass and some odd ball f/x.
Everything's better with compression.

Episode 14 of my podcast "Objects From The World Of Machines" has been uploaded to the Dreamdaze Mothership (well, the website anyhow).
Episode 14 features a mix of 6 electronica songs which I've been working on for the last couple of days.
Each makes use of a more rock-oriented bassline, glitched up rock drums and various poptronica synth lines. Each song is sprinkled with vinyl scratches and a variety of vocal samples.
Episode 12 of the Objects From The World Of Machines podcast is now available and features an electronic music mix by DJ Dazed of DREAMDAZE, inspired by last weekend's Chicago performances by SinCroNation, Wicker Basket and Protman.
The keyboard and tempo ideas in the podcast come from SinCroNation, the beats are based on Wicker Basket, and the glitched-up madness demonstrate Protman's influence.
Listen to what happens when all these artists' styles get mashed together in an original mix!
