I've gotta tell you, Montreal has some of the best used and new CD/music stores ever. Just walking up and down St. Laurent and St. Denis was incredible. They had DJ stores selling vinyl with turntables set up for customer use - awesome selection everywhere I went. And they had the greatest punk rock music store of all time - check out www.underworld-shop.com .

I'll get all the info for the song filled out on their site tonight. Hopefully it will make it on to the next CD they send to MTV. MTV just licensed an entire CD of songs from various raw42 artists within the last week for use in their reality shows. Then they requested 3 more CDs. I certainly hope one of my songs makes the cut...

I'm back from Montreal. Was there for the first day of the Montreal Electronic Music Festival by coincidence. Mainly raining. Saw one DJ play (forgot his name already) then headed to shelter.

I'm well rested and currently uploading 30- and 60-second 320k mp3's to raw42 for my 7 songs they've accepted. They're pushing the songs to MTV now, so I want to make sure my selections are complete so MTV actually has the opportunity to consider them.

Well, I'm still doing well on the mp3.com Chicago Electronic Chart with 9 of the Top 100 songs there.

But Placid Abstraction, after spending about a week at number 1 on the mp3.com Worldwide Ambient Chart, has dropped out of the Top 100.

My only worldwide chart ranking currently is Wretched Bliss at number 72 on the Worldwide Happy Hardcore Chart.

Just finished practicing for my August Wisconsin date (assuming it happens which I doubt that it will but who knows).

I must say that I have an awesome set (if you like ambient down tempo trip hop).

If you don't then my set would suck and I suggest you come over to my place and we'll hang out listening to old punk. Of course, if you don't like the whole punk/hard core thing and you don't like ambient down tempo trip hop then we can hang and enjoy some classic jazz. By classic jazz I mean Miles or Bird or Coltrane. And we'll play some backgammon too. And if you don't like that then maybe we can just listen to some classical although if we aren't playing chess at the same time then we might be bored. And, hey, there's always reggae or ska (but we'll be in the back yard for this playing bocci ball and grilling previously living things).

If none of this sounds good to you, then why are you bothering me?

Wow! I'm excited.

My latest ambient song Placid Abstraction is NUMBER 1 on the mp3.com WORLDWIDE Ambient chart and NUMBER 101 on the mp3.com WORLDWIDE ALL GENRE Chart!

The Number 1 Ambient position is impressive enough, but being Number 101 OVERALL (that's for ALL songs including heavy metal, pop, hard core, dance, spoken word, comedy, country, etc etc etc) is really exciting!

The song had 1047 Total Plays (993 Qualified Plays) yesterday! WITH NO PROMOTION FROM ME!

I can't wait for the upload utility to start working on raw42...
